Parquet Courts - Wide Awake! (2018)

This is another Jon recommendation and one that knocked it out of the park. This album is a good time! Strong punk vibes resonate throughout the whole record, clocking in at only 38 and a half minutes this was a nice commute listen to give me enough energy to get home after a busy day too. The music here is great, especially the bass which shines on every track. The vocals are a bit of an acquired taste, reminding me of another New York City punk band with an interesting accent, The Ramones. It took me several tracks to really get into the groove but after about 3 songs it became no secret as to why this band has a bit of a cult following with a highly dedicated fan base. If any fiber of your being likes any type of punk, I think this is worth a listen.

Highlight: "Freebird II", I'm not too sure what's going on with the name here, definitely doesn't remind me of Skynard's hit, but this is a fun upbeat track!
